NETEZZA EXPANDS INTO KOREA WITH BI C&S PARTNERSHIP
Korean Business Intelligence Specialist to Resell Netezza Data Warehouse Appliance
Seoul—April 10, 2006—Netezza, the data warehouse appliance market leader, today announced that it has further expanded its presence in Asia through a new partnership with BI C&S. Netezza selected BI C&S based on its strong track record selling and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) and data warehouse solutions.
Based in Seoul, BI C&S is a leader in the BI market in Korea, working with technologies from MicroStrategy, Informatica, and ProClarity. Mr. Joo-Sung Park, CEO of BI C&S said, “Firms are challenged with the need to quickly analyze and leverage increasing amounts of data. BI C&S has the skills and experience to help these firms succeed in turning their data into a valuable asset. By using the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system, our customers will be able to analyze far more data, much more quickly and easily than with existing technology.”
The Netezza Performance Server system is the market-leading data warehouse appliance, built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data 10 to 50 times faster than existing data warehouse options, at half the cost. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organization. Customers who have recognized the performance benefits of Netezza’s approach include Ahold USA, Amazon.com, American Red Cross, Catalina Marketing, Cingular Wireless, CNET Networks, Epsilon, Neiman Marcus, Orange UK, Premier, Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation, The Carphone Warehouse and The TJX Companies.
Douglas Etzel, General Manager for Netezza, North Asia added, “Leading Korean firms in data-intensive industries such as telecommunications, retail, financial services, and e-business are striving to gain a competitive advantage with cost-effective data analysis. BI C&S is well placed to leverage the high-performance and ease of use of the NPS system to allow these firms to meet this goal.”
The NPS system works hand in hand with BI applications and tools, without requiring any modifications. Most leading BI applications run seamlessly with the NPS system and Netezza has partnered with market leaders in the BI space, including MicroStrategy, Business Objects, SAS, SPSS and others.
