NATIONWIDE FINANCIAL SERVICES, INC. CHOOSES NETEZZA DATA WAREHOUSE APPLIANCE
Fortune 500 Financial Services Giant Chooses Netezza To Power Sales and Marketing Applications
Framingham, Mass. — May 9, 2007 — Netezza Corporation, a leading provider of data warehouse appliances, today announced that Nationwide Financial Services, Inc., the holding company for Nationwide Life Insurance Company, is migrating its existing data warehouse platform onto the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) data warehouse appliance. The financial services giant plans on using data warehouse tools like Netezza to more quickly and efficiently analyze data from its sales and marketing systems, helping drive business performance to meet their growth targets.
"Improving informational data management, with tools like the NPS system, will help expand our Business Intelligence capabilities. As we elevate the impact of marketing and sales processes going forward, BI capabilities will become an essential and increasingly important area of investment. We fully expect this technology to result in better performance, enhanced flexibility and increased cost savings across the organization," stated Tim Lyons, vice president, Business Solution Services at Nationwide Financial.
“We’re seeing a dramatic increase in financial institutions adopting Netezza’s data warehouse appliance into their environments,” said Jit Saxena, CEO and co-founder of Netezza. “More and more businesses in this industry segment are realizing the value that technologies such as the Netezza appliance can provide.”
The Netezza Performance Server system is a market-leading data warehouse appliance built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data 10 to 100 times faster than existing data warehouse options. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. This allows the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity for customers like Nationwide Financial.
