NETEZZA USER CONFERENCE CHARTS A COURSE FOR THE FUTURE OF DATA WAREHOUSE APPLIANCES
More Than 360 Customers, Partners and Prospects Gather as a Community to Usher in the Next Stage of Data Warehousing
Framingham, MA — October 3, 2006 — Netezza, the global data warehouse appliance market leader, today announced the overwhelming success of its second annual international User Conference held September 18 - 20 at the Seaport Hotel in Boston, Mass. The Conference’s “Accelerating Innovation” theme focused on the proven success and future direction of data warehouse appliances and was attended by some of the biggest names in the retail, financial services, telecommunications, federal, healthcare and consumer packaged goods industries.
The two-day event provided a mix of detailed technology and product information alongside numerous customer and partner business case studies that clearly demonstrated how the Netezza data warehouse appliance is helping companies better position themselves for the demands of tomorrow’s business intelligence.
Among the companies sharing their experiences in creating business value through data warehouse appliances were ACNielsen, CompuCredit, Debenhams, Epsilon, Global Red, Orange UK, Ross Stores, Inc., Ryder System, Inc., The Carphone Warehouse and the Office of the Inspector General, Department of Veterans Affairs.
The “Accelerating Innovation” Conference also served as a platform for the Netezza user community to look beyond their current usage of the product and discuss ways to broaden the appliance footprint across the enterprise. Users discussed how data warehouse appliances are meeting the challenges of expanding data sizes and growing user workloads. Netezza also presented its vision for the future of data warehouse appliances, leveraging the unique Netezza architecture to power targeted end-to-end Business Solution Appliances and new classes of advanced, predictive analytics.
“Netezza is re-energizing the data warehouse market with appliances that deliver better, faster, cheaper analytics today and a competitive weapon for tomorrow,” said Jit Saxena, CEO and co-founder of Netezza. “The incredibly strong attendance at our second annual User Conference is a testament to the expanding footprint of data warehouse appliances and our position as the clear market leader. Many of this year’s presenters were prospects last year who came to the Netezza User Conference as believers, and left as data warehouse appliance ambassadors.”
“Accelerating Innovation” highlights included:
“The Netezza User Conference was the best Information Technology user conference I have attended in that the speakers presented information that was incredibly innovative and relevant to my needs,” said Allen L. Hobson, CIO, Office of the Inspector General, Department of Veterans Affairs. “The networking events also gave me and my team an opportunity to hear first-hand how our peers are using the Netezza data warehouse appliance to achieve tangible business success.”
The Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system is the market-leading data warehouse appliance built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data 10 to 100 times faster than existing data warehouse options, at half the cost. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organization.
