NETEZZA EXPANDS ALLIANCE PROGRAM TO ACCOMMODATE GROWING LIST OF PARTNERS

Company Offers Three New Partnership Levels to Maximize the Value and Power of the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) System

Framingham, Mass.—September 28, 2004—Netezza Corporation has expanded its Alliance Program to include more than 20 leading technology businesses in several partner categories. Over the past 18 months, Netezza has teamed with organizations including Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Ascential Software, Knightsbridge Solutions, Cognos, Infogain and Vibrant Solutions, to maximize the value of the Netezza Performance Server® (NPS®) system. The expansion of the program also enables Netezza to provide its partner community with enhanced programs for strengthening product development, market reach and sales opportunities worldwide.

The Alliance Program consists of three types of partnerships: Complementary Technology, System Integrator and Solution Provider.

• Complementary Technology Partners

These companies – which include Ascential Software, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Informatica and Cognos – offer data infrastructure products that integrate with the Netezza product line.

By offering products like business intelligence and data-validation solutions, these companies allow Netezza’s customers to benefit from the dramatic performance capabilities of the NPS system, even as volumes of data increase exponentially. MicroStrategy’s Chief Operating Officer Sanju K. Bansal sees this capability as a critical advantage for information-intensive organizations: “The MicroStrategy Business Intelligence Platform™ provides unlimited data scalability, allowing companies to monitor, report and analyze multi-terabytes of data enterprise-wide. By seamlessly integrating the NPS system with MicroStrategy’s industry-leading platform, customers are empowered with the ability to glean valuable insight into their operations and make proactive business decisions.”

Ascential Software (Nasdaq: ASCL) also points to this capability as a key benefit of its Netezza partnership – especially among customers who need to achieve unmatched performance and scalability for critical data analyses. “Netezza offers a strong value proposition to its customer base, including rapid time to market and return on investment. Enterprise data integration solutions from Ascential Software can help amplify these benefits and enable us and our partner to deliver exceptionally fast, scalable and cost-effective solutions that provide rapid access to large volumes of strategic business information,” said Rodger Morrill, vice president of ISV/OEM sales at Ascential Software. “We are pleased with the results that our partnership yields for our mutual customers and our respective organizations.”

• System Integrator Partners

System Integrator Partners specify and recommend the architectures for corporate data warehouse and business intelligence systems. For example, Knightsbridge Solutions, Systech Solutions, Infogain and Leading Edge Business Solutions have all joined this program, citing the fact that Netezza’s standards-based NPS system offers both simplicity and ease of use for the data center architect.

“We increasingly see Netezza in organizations that have the large volumes and complex data issues in which we specialize. It is an exciting new technology, which we see rapidly gaining acceptance in the terabyte-class environment where high-performance is critical,” said Faisal Shah, chief technology officer, Knightsbridge Solutions.

• Solution Provider Partners

These companies – including Vibrant and Unica – offer packaged and customized solutions with an emphasis on analytics, either by bundling Netezza’s products with their own offerings or labeling their solutions as Netezza-compatible.

To continue the growth of its Alliance Program, Netezza has validated interoperability with leading vendors offering business intelligence and ETL solutions. To date, vendors like Ab Initio, Ascential, MicroStrategy and Vibrant have formally certified Netezza. Additionally, Netezza has certified over 50 consultants and engineers representing 20 partner firms in 2004 alone as part of its comprehensive training program.

“As Netezza’s customer base continues to rapidly expand, we want to ensure that our customers are constantly deriving maximum value from their investments in our technology,” said Jit Saxena, co-founder and CEO of Netezza Corp. “The addition of companies like Ascential Software, MicroStrategy and Knightsbridge Solutions to our Partner Program solidifies our commitment to forging relationships with the best and brightest in the IT community. These new partners also provide the opportunity for us to effectively scale our sales, marketing, customer service and technical support capabilities to meet rising demand for the NPS system.”

The Netezza Performance Server system is the only data warehouse appliance built specifically to analyze terabytes of detailed data – 10 – 50 times faster than existing data warehouses, at half the cost. The NPS system stores, filters and processes terabytes of records within a single unit, analyzing only the relevant information for each query. Netezza has placed the CPU power next to the data, allowing the NPS system to speed through processes that would occupy most data warehouse systems for hours, or even days, thereby enabling dramatic increases in productivity across the organization. Customers who have recognized the performance benefits of Netezza’s approach include AT&T Wireless, CNET Networks, Epsilon, Orange UK, Premier, Inc., Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation and The TJX Companies.
